Deer Park UMC proudly Charters Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troup # 268. The Troup meets on Tuesday evenings in the Family Life Center from 7-8:30 p.m.

 Boy Scouts Mission Statement:
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Scout Oath:
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

 Cub Scouting is a year-round family program designed for boys who are about 7 to 10 years old.* Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.

Cub Scout Pack 268 has over 56 registered scouts and this year recruited the most new scouts in the Bayshore District. The Cun Scouts meet on the last Tuesday of the month in the Family Life Center from 7-8:30 p.m.

 Boy Scouting is a year-round program for boys around ages 11 - 17.* Through the Boy Scout program, young men can achieve the core objectives of strengthening character, personal fitness and good citizenship.

Boy Scout Troop 268 has over 35 registered scouts/adult leaders and produced 5 Eagle Scouts in 2007. They've helped the church by installing permanent supports east and west of the main sign for temporary banners, cleaned a painted the east parking lot, installed conduit, electrical wiring, circuit breaker panel, outlets, lights, fans, for the portable disaster relief medical facility sponsored by DPUMC, delivered items for church garage sales, and conducted food drives for the Deer Park and DPUMC food banks. In the near future, the troop plans to clean and repaint the lines in the west parking lot.
