Scripture of the Week
"The Reign of heaven is like this: a man, who was preparing for a journey to distant lands, summoned
his slaves and entrusted his assets to them. He gave to each according to the slave's managerial abilities.
To one, he gave two hundred fifty thousand dollars; to another, one hundred thousand dollars, and to another,
fifty thousand dollars. And then he left on his trip."
Matthew 25:14-15

Nothing but Nets
The Methodist team is now in Africa distributing nets. The team has a blog with notes and pictures which
you can see this here. Read the blog, see the pictures.
In the 30 seconds it will take you to read this insert, somewhere in Africa a child will die
from malaria. Malaria is a disease that infects nearly 500 million people each year and kills more
than 1 million of those who become infected. The good news is that malaria is preventable – and with
your help, it can be stopped!
The people of The United Methodist Church have joined hands with the United Nations Foundation,
the National Basketball Association’s NBA Cares, Sports Illustrated, and other organizations to
support NOTHING BUT NETS, a global grass-roots campaign
to save lives by preventing malaria.
Malaria is a leading killer of children in Africa. It can be prevented through the use of
insecticide-treated bed nets, which create a protective barrier against mosquitoes at night, when
most transmission occurs. Just one bed net can keep an entire family safe from malaria transmission
for up to four years!
